A Rainbow Within

A Rainbow Within began with a close look at a grayling’s eye. As I enlarged the reference photograph, colors and shapes appeared that weren’t visible at first glance. What seemed like one small detail opened into a world of its own.

This painting is a reminder that close observation can transform the familiar. The longer I looked, the more the eye became a landscape of color, reflection, and movement.
